A look back at our Everyday Glam makeup workshop in Rotterdam
Seeing a technique on a model and then trying it yourself: for us, that was the highlight of the Everyday Glam makeup workshop on 12 September 2026 at Van der Valk Hotel Rotterdam-Blijdorp. Participants put the guidance into practice, asked questions and discovered new possibilities for their own makeup.
This workshop was a collaboration between By Dash Beauty, An from Sundaries and Saira from Make Up By Unique.
Saira from Make Up By Unique works as a makeup artist (MUA) and led the explanations and demonstration on the model during the workshop. An from Sundaries worked as a makeup artist for many years and has extensive skincare knowledge.
We received lovely feedback from participants who were happy with their results and had gained new insights. In this recap, we take you through the day: from the prepared workstations and demonstration to practising in front of the mirror.
A workstation where you can take your time
Mirrors, materials, pink bags and flowers were set out on the tables. Each workstation invited participants to take a seat and get their makeup ready. The face charts on the tables complemented the explanations, helping everyone follow the steps and product placement.
The programme progressed from theory and preparation to a demonstration. After lunch, there was time for guided practice, followed by final adjustments and photos.

What did participants learn during the makeup workshop?
Skin preparation, foundation application and makeup placement were key topics. How do you apply a technique to your own face? Where do you put blush? And how do you work with a brush? These practical questions came up throughout the workshop.
Saira demonstrated the explanations on a model. This made each step immediately clear, so participants could then try the movements themselves. Face charts were also used to support the explanations.

Skin prep and foundation application
Preparing the skin, often called skin prep , received attention before the base was applied. There were questions about foundation and putting techniques into practice. Watching the steps on the model helped participants follow how preparation and application fitted together.
During practice, they could then see how the guidance worked on their own skin. This provided a practical starting point for questions about their application methods and routines.
Where do you place blush, and how do you use your brush?
Blush placement also came up in the questions. A demonstration shows where the brush is placed and how a product is blended over the skin. Participants could then try it themselves and check the result in the mirror.

By Dash Beauty products in practice
During the workshop, By Dash Beauty products were among those discussed and used in detail. The products were part of both the explanations and the practice. Participants could see how they were applied and how they came together in a makeup look.
Questions about use and placement were given practical examples. With a product and brush to hand, you can immediately try what is being explained. In the photos, you can see products including our powder blush.

The highlight: trying the techniques yourself
For us, the highlight was the moment participants started practising for themselves. The information from the demonstration became an action in front of their own mirror. They looked, tried something and then assessed the result.
This was also when questions arose about applying particular techniques. The opportunity to practise and ask questions made the guidance personal: what would you take from the demonstration, and how would you use it in your own makeup?

It was special to see participants happy with their results and gaining new insights. The lovely feedback we received showed how much a day of learning and practising together can mean. Thank you to all participants for your questions, enthusiasm and participation.
